Peter C. McGivney

Peter is a partner with the Corporate and Commercial Litigation practice group of Berger M^cDermott, focusing his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation and representing corporate policyholders in insurance coverage disputes.

Peter handles complex litigation matters including insurance coverage, advancement and indemnification, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, corporate dissolution, software design and development disputes, and construction disputes. Peter also serves as Delaware counsel in a variety of matters, including intellectual property litigation, bankruptcy, and discovery matters.

Peter has experience litigating cases in every state and federal court in Delaware, state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, as well as the American Arbitration Association and International Centre for Dispute Resolution. Prior to joining Berger M^cDermott, Peter was an associate at Elzufon, Austin & Mondell, P.A., where he concentrated his practice in professional liability defense litigation, representing healthcare providers, attorneys, accountants, and other professionals. Peter served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable M. Jane Brady of the Superior Court of Delaware and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Henry duPont Ridgely of the Supreme Court of Delaware.

Peter received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Widener University Delaware Law School in 2012.
