On January 17, 2024, Berger McDermott partner Chris Messa presented a CLE seminar on updates to the Delaware Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), including the recent adoption of new Article 12 and related amendments.
Adopted in Delaware in August 2023, Article 12 governs certain transactions involving cryptocurrency and other digital assets. As a member of the UCC subcommittee of the Commercial Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association, Chris helped to prepare and evaluate Article 12 and the related amendments to the UCC.
Chris is a graduate of Colgate University and Wake Forest University, where he completed a JD/MBA concurrent degree program. As the head of Berger McDermott’s Corporate and Business Transactions practice group, Chris oversees a wide range of complex transactional matters, including structured financings, asset sales and purchases, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions and secured transactions.
